HALDI CEREMONY
This ceremony is celebrated individually in houses of bride and groom. . On that day, the haldi paste (turmeric paste) is applied to both the bride and groom by their relatives and friends. The ritual of haldi is intended to sheer them of nervousness and as a good sign of fortune and prosperity. On the day of haldi ceremony, traditionally an Indian bride has to wear yellow colored clothes. In India, the haldi ceremony is also known as Uptaan. According to custom she must not step out of the house for the next few days until her marriage. There is, again, much celebration and singing
MEHENDI CEREMONY
Mehendi ceremony is celebrated together with the haldi ceremony. It is little bit different from the haldi ceremony. Haldi ceremony is held in both groom and bride's place, while the Mehendi ceremony is held only in bride's place. A relative or a mehndiwali applies mehndi (henna) on the hands and feet of the bride. The event has a festive feel to it with the women singing traditional songs.
all you people visiting our site
Shalom,We, Imteyaz and Nazreen are getting married and we have chosen this space in cyberverse to make the announcements! (ah! It feels so wonderfully-accomplishing to be declaring it - Touchwood!) Without much digression, we would like to let you all know that we expect each and everyone of you to be there to see us exchange vows. Thanks to some nerve wracking numerology skills, the wedding is planned on a working day - but that is just to facilitate the excuse-monger with a reason to skip the occasion. You are not that and we are really hoping that good friends would really not mind to skip one work day for us. Counting on guys, see you all there.
-Imteyaz and Nazreen
P.S: We'll be really grateful if you can sign our guest-book, that to us will be a memorable souvenir.
Biryani in return for best wishes... Don't miss out
